i really enjoy taking the lineart layer off of my pages as I go along, just to check how the colors look up against one another without the distraction of the dark outlines. It’s really much easier on the eyes, and I often wish I could retain the purity and energy of these colors when the lines go back on top. Really what this means is my next project should either be lineless, or possibly use colored linework. It’s funny how things change. Lines used to be the only element of my work that I was at all confident about, and I would never have thought to sacrifice them in a comic.
Ruth and Annabelle ruin everything is a great comic, go read it!
